Savvy Navvy, ambassador you’re spoiling us…
Hi Team, I’m not sure if our friends in the US and Europe will recognise my cheesy reference to the ’90s (or was it ’80s?) classic TV add for everybody’s favourite chocolate (kudos to those that do), but either way I’m really pleased to introduce you to savvy navvy who have very kindly asked me to be an ambassador for their navigation software business.
savvy navvy are a cool new start-up that’s bringing together the best of today’s tech into a single routing app for sailors. The Savvy app brings charting, wind and tidal info into one solution, providing simple routing suggestions based on your departure time and your boats basic performance data.
Clearly, I won’t be using this or any apps on the Golden Globe Race! but I am going to use it to sense check my planning during training and cruising over coming months.
Both the Savvy team and I thought there was a nice juxtaposition between the traditional skills approach of the Golden Globe Race and the latest solution from the world of apps. I think it’s the combination of both that will make us all better and safer sailors overall.
